The internet space in Nigeria was recently bruised by a trend about a popular crossdresser, Bobrisky, and how he was handed a six-month jail term. It was a big one for the fight against Naira abuse, even though some conspiracy theories followed. Also, by the corner, a funny trend arose about Bobrisky growing beards even in detention.
Well, could the ‘beautiful’ face of a man that won a ‘best-dressed-female award’ few weeks before his imprisonment, grow beards and change its entire look?

There are a few things about these claim and question on whether Bobrisky is growing beards or not that you need to see.
During the court trial of the crossdresser for alleged Naira abuse, Bobrisky was asked if he was a man or a woman.
Did Bobrisky Do Vaginoplasty?
It was amazing for most of his followers that the cross-dresser, who often says he is the Mummy of Lagos, will say to the judge: “I am a man, my lord”.
Going by this, it became obvious that Bobrisky has his manhood intact.
Before now, some persons were of the opinion that he may have performed a vaginoplasty.
This is a gender affirming surgery that is used to create a vulva and vagina.
Surgeons will remove the penis, testicles and scrotum and then create a vagina.
During a vaginoplasty procedure, tissue in the genital area is rearranged to create a vaginal canal (or opening) and vulva (external genitalia), including the labia.
That way, a person with a male system (hormones and chromosomes) can now engage in sexual intercourse like a woman.
But that appears to be different for Bobrisky.
Saying he is a man means a lot. It goes beyond what people think it is. Bobrisky must have thought about this deeply before he responded. If he says he is a woman, there may be a need to check the genitals.
Now, if it turns out to be a lie, that will mean providing a false evidence which he swore not to do at the beginning of the trial.
So, Bobrisky aligned with the truth.
Going by this, his male genitals are still intact.
Bobrisky Growing Beards?
But is Bobrisky really growing beards?
There are different angles to this claim or question.
First, if Bobrisky does not want his beards to grow, he can achieve that while in prison.
There is a compound called Eflornithine. It is a specific, irreversible inhibitor of the enzyme that makes hair grow. This slows hair growth by inhibiting this enzyme in hair follicles (1).
In the prison, Bobrisky appears to have this as his only option.
The cream will reduce unwanted facial hair.
On the other hand, Bobrisky is a man. As a result, he has androgens running in his body.

Blades for shaving do not come into correctional centres to avoid the possibility of death or suicide.
It will not be unusual to see that Bobrisky comes out of the prison with beards. This is because he is a man and has his hormones intact.
However, we know that prior to this time, Bobrisky would have relied more on a cream to stop his beards from growing.
