Glycation in human. Living till 150 years

Study Finds That Living Till 150 Years Is Possible.

Do you believe that living till 150 years is possible? Are you searching your sense knowledge to see if it is possible? Well, in a few minutes, you will find out what science has found.

Many crave longevity, but quite a lot of them fall by the way side as a result of ill-health. Some do not even live up to 80 years. But do you know that some persons on earth right now could live up to 150 years?

Imagine that when your old parents begin to manifest health issues that go with ageing, like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and even blindness, you could reverse their age and make them become free of those. Would you love to be able to do that?

Well, science is advancing to make that your imagination a reality. With a few alterations and re-calibration, the body’s ageing clock could be reversed.

Here is what we found.

Altering Molecules That Turn DNA On And Off

A recent study says altering molecules that turn DNA on, off, was found to be able to reset cellular ageing of the body (1).

For centuries, people believe that ageing occurs through accumulated mutations to DNA. These mutations gradually interfere with the normal functioning of cells, tissues, and organs. They damage them and make you age.

In 2023, Harvard researchers explored the possibility of turning the clock of age back. They tried it in mice.

They altered the epigenome, a suite of molecules that turn DNA on and off in ways specific to different tissues.

The breakthrough-finding opened up the possibility of resetting the human body to fight diseases such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even cancer.

Basically, incidents of these diseases increase as we get older.

Genetics Professor, David Sinclair, who is the director of Harvard Medical School’s Paul F. Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research, and postdoctoral fellow Jae-Hyun Yang spoke about the research work and its implications for human health and lifespan (2).

Sinclair said: “In this paper, we’re showing it’s possible to reset the age of the body up to as much as 50 percent”. And, when you can reverse ageing and not just slow it down, then all bets are off. We now know you can reset the eye multiple times and restore vision in old mice”.

Ageing Due To Loss Of Epigenetic

According to him, they discovered that ageing occur mostly due to the loss of epigenetic rather than genetic information.

“So, instead of ageing being a hardware problem, similar to having an old computer, we are discovering that it’s a software problem and you can reboot the software of an old computer and make it run like it’s new again.”

Loss Of Epigenetic: The Lowering Practices

Are there ways that humans can also on their own lower loss of epigenetic as indicated in the study? Yes!

According to Sinclair, there is a relationship between their findings and things known to be anti-ageing – exercise and calorie restriction, which also have epigenetic effects.

“They’re manifestations of the same process. There are three sirtuins in the nucleus that help with DNA repair as well as epigenomic stability.

“And when you exercise, when you don’t eat three meals a day — you fast — and even if you have high temperatures and low temperatures, that stimulates the sirtuins to be more active.

“And we know that that can stabilise the epigenome,” he stressed.

Loss Of Epigenetic: The Lowering Power In Plants

To see if there was a plan for living to 150 years as part of the creators’s cookbook, we decide to dig more into other studies to find if there are plants available to humans that could help reduce loss of epigenetic.

Fortunately, we found that there is growing body of evidence suggesting that dietary agents as well as non-nutrient components of fruits and vegetables can affect epigenetic processes. They are involved in processes, including the reactivation of tumour suppressor genes, the initiation of apoptosis, the repression of cancer-related genes and the activation of cell survival proteins in different cancers (3) .

According to a study, dietary phytochemicals such as tea polyphenols, genistein, sulforaphane (SFN), resveratrol, curcumin and others have been demonstrated to be effective agents against cancer and to act through epigenetic mechanisms that affect the epigenome (4).

From these studies we can suggest that increasing consumption of more natural food items and intake of herbs like turmeric which is rich in curcumin could help slow down ageing.

In fact, a  study found that curcumin demonstrated a positive impact on slowing down the ageing process by postponing age-related changes (5).

Furthermore, the study highlights that his compound may have anti-ageing properties by changing levels of proteins involved in the ageing process, such as sirtuins and AMPK, and inhibiting pro-ageing proteins.

Finally, there is an appreciable increase in the amount of information available to people on healthy living.

As a result, people will opt for a healthier lifestyle that would aid longevity and push human towards longer years on earth. Living till 150 years is possible.

Would you love to live long?
