Oral sex is the act of stimulating your partner’s genitals with your mouth, lips, teeth or tongue.

Oral Sex And Typhoid Fever
One of the risks of engaging in oral sex is the transmission of infectious diseases.
Typhoid fever could be transmitted through oral sex, a research of 2003 stated.
It submitted that “in August 2000, the Ohio Department of Health reported a cluster of men with typhoid fever who denied having traveled abroad.
“An epidemiological investigation was initiated to determine the cause and the extent of the outbreak”.
According to the report, 7 persons in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana with culture-confirmed showed they had Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi infection.
“Two persons with probable typhoid fever were evaluated. All of them were men.
Also, all but one reported having had sex with 1 asymptomatic male S. Typhi carrier.
The researchers documented sexual transmission of typhoid fever. According to their findings, when oral or anal sex happens, typhoid fever there could me transmission of this bacteria.

The research highlighted the need for caution.
Transmission Through Oral Sex
Urine droplets stay in the tract when an individual urinates.
When the sucking and licking happens, they will find their way into the mouth of the individual and then go down into the intestine.
However, apart from typhoid transmission, there are other diseases that could get when you engage n oral sex.
According to the NHS, herpes, gonorrhoea and syphilis could be contracted through oral sex.
Other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) through oral sex are:
- chlamydia
- hepatitis A
- genital warts
- hepatitis B
- hepatitis C
- HIV
- pubic lice
According the the report, the risk is generally higher if you give rather than receive oral sex.
Chances are that you are more exposed to genital fluids when you give oral sex
The risk is also higher if you have cuts, sores or ulcers in your mouth. Avoid brushing your teeth or using dental floss shortly before giving oral sex as this could cause your gums to bleed. If you want to freshen your mouth first, you could try mouthwash or mints.
If you want to engage in BJ, it is great to keep the risks in mind.
